Do Not Put Sharps in Regular Trash!
Duffield Occupants: The Custodians are reporting a large amount of plastic sharps are being deposited in with regular trash on the second and third floors. Please remember EH&S requires all sharps be placed in proper containment. If a sharp is BIO hazardous, it is to be placed in the approved sharps container. Plastic pipette tips and other non-hazardous sharps are to be deposited in puncture proof containers that can then be placed in regular trash. SHARPS IN THE REGULAR TRASH pose an unwarranted risk to our custodians and will not be tolerated. Please do your part to ensure a safe environment in Duffield Hall for everyone -- handle your sharps properly! Thank you for your cooperation.

CNF Flexus News!! - NEW FLEXUS STRESS MEASUREMENT ARRIVING MID FEBRUARY
Sometime in mid February, our Old Flexus ( which is used for stress measurement in thin films) will be replaced by a modern, new system. The fate of the old system is not yet known. It is therefore imperative that you collect any data which you may need to save from the old system computer!

CVC - New Target Changing Policy in Effect March 1 2012
CVC target change Scheduling is changing on March 1st so that it will be coordinated with the AJA target changes. E-mail will be used for requesting target changes instead of the Coral schedule. For more information, see the updated target changing policy document on the CVC page.

PG Conversion SW Changes
Changes to available space in Duffield necessitate permanently shutting down the VAXes hosting the PG conversion software (gdspg). PG conversions will move to Korat/Minx using a package by Artwork Conversion Software, Inc. These changes will be at the end of January.

Especially for time sensitive mask writing jobs, beginning in February we suggest you plan on using the Heidelberg DWL2000.

Please also copy your data from the VAXes to your AFS home directory.

Photolith Training Sessions for the Week of February 13th:

The General Photolithography training session will meet in spinner room on Tuesday at 1:30PM.

MA6 Contact Aligner training session will meet in the contact aligner room on Tuesday at 9:00AM.

Pattern Generator training session will meet by the tool in the cleanroom on Wednesday at 9:00AM.

ABM Contact Aligner training session will meet in the contact aligner room on Thursday at 9:00AM.

For any other training sessions this week contact the tool owner for scheduling. Please review the materials available at each of the web pages associated with the tools above. Stepper training sessions will be schedule next week!

No pre-registration is necessary.

RTP 8108 Down
The RTP 8108 is down do to a failed optical sensor. A replacement has been ordered is supposed to arrive in a week or two.

Beamer Update to v4.3.0
LayoutBEAMER is now running at version 4.3.0 on Korat and Minx. Documentation and training video links on the CNFUsers web site now also point to the 4.3.0 documentation and training videos.

Minx is now running RHEL6/64. Upon your first connect to the reinstalled Minx, you will be prompted to accept a new ssh host key.
