User Storage Cleanout
The user storage area will be undergoing renovations and therefore must be cleaned out! All items not in an assigned storage bin will be removed from the facility on 9/15/2008! Storage in the cleanroom is limited to bins or drawers that are assigned by staff. Items cannot be left on floor, on top of cabinets, or spread throughout the facility. Work that cannot fit inside the assigned storage bin must be carried in and out of the facility by the users. See Daniel Woodie to request a storage bin. Do not place your items into a bin not assigned to you!

CNF Annual Meeting, Thursday, September 11, 2008
Dear CNF Community: Information and registration is now available for the 2008 CNF Annual Meeting, being held on Thursday, September 11th, here on Cornell campus. Registrations are due no later than Thursday, September 4th, and we are limited to 200 participants, so register early! If you would like to present a poster, be sure to include the requested information on your registration. We have plenty of room for posters!

Innovations in Nanotechnology for Cancer Research
On Friday, September 26th, 2008, this one-day symposium will bring together experts in cancer, biology and nanotechnology to discuss problems in the clinical and basic science of cancer which nano- and micro- fabrication may be uniquely suited to address.

NYC Symposium on Nanomedicine
On Wednesday, September 24, 2008, we will be celebrating the opening of the Cornell NanoScale Facility (CNF) remote office at Weill Cornell Medical College (1300 York Ave, New York City, New York), from 2:00-5:30 p.m. This event will introduce the CNF and showcase microscale and nanoscale technologies that are available to the medical and research communities of the New York-Metro area. The CNF staff who are available for consultation will also be introduced. The purpose of the office is to lower any barriers to the adoption of nanotechnology tools and techniques, and to promote intercampus collaborations with Cornell in Ithaca. Consultation and Ithaca facilities are open to any faculty, post-docs and students, and registration is not necessary. Please join us!

Autostep AS200 and Pattern Generator scheduled maintenance
The Autostep AS200 will undergo maintenance starting Friday September 12 and should be available late Wednesday September 17th.
The pattern generator will undergo maintenance starting Thursday September 18th and should be available Tuesday morning September 23rd.

Stepper Training **MONDAY** September 8th
GCA stepper training will be offered Monday, September 8th, beginning at 1:30 PM in the 250 Duffield Hall Conference Room. This training covers theory and operation of the 5X and 10X GCA 6300 DSW tools at CNF.

Hot Phosphoric / Nanostrip / Electroplating Chemical Hood Closed
The Hot Phosphoric / Nanostrip & Electroplating hoods will be closed on Monday and Tuesday to allow for work on the hood drains. Signs will be posted on the hood showing that they are closed. When the work is finished, the signs will be removed.

CMP Offline
The CMP tool is offline for maintenance but should become available again by the weekend.
Update: I am having continuing problems with the tool and it will not be available until mid week.

PT770 Right Side Down
The right side is down awaiting a replacement foreline valve. The replacement valve has been delayed and will take approximately 2 weeks to arrive.
