Duffield Hall is a nearly $100 million Cornell commitment and the Cornell NanoScale Science & Technology Facility (CNF) is a central element in the interdisciplinary nanoscale research that the new building now makes possible. The substantial improvements in CNF -- in the many new advanced tools, in the increased capabilities for new directions, in the improvements in reproducibility and control, etc. -- provide the national research community with a unique facility for accomplishing complex integration tasks, unique world-leading state-of-the-art processes, and utilizing new techniques that are being developed world-wide.
